How to Prepare Perogies
Cooking Instructions
Do not allow the perogies to thaw.
Stovetop Boil Method:

Bring 2 litres of water to a full boil in a medium sized pot.

Once boiling, gently add 1 bag (360 g) of frozen perogies. Reduce to a simmer.

Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the water so the perogies don’t stick together.

Partially cover the pot. Simmer for 19 minutes. Gently stirring a few times.

Gently remove the perogies with a slotted spoon. Smear butter or margarine on to avoid sticking together. Serve immediately.
Stovetop Fried Method:

Bring 2 litres of water to a full boil in a medium sized pot.

Once boiling, gently add 1 bag (360 g) of frozen perogies. Reduce to a simmer.

Add 1 tbsp. of oil to the water so the perogies don’t stick together.

Partially cover the pot. Simmer for 14 minutes. Gently stirring a few times.

While simmering, prepare a frying pan with butter or oil.

Gently remove the perogies with a slotted spoon. Add to the frying pan over medium heat. Fry each side for approximately 2-3 minutes until lightly browned, or desired consistency. Serve immediately.
TIP: For a tasty option, serve perogies with caramelized onions.
